FAQ about our Wedding Photography
I'd like to discuss our wedding day. Can we meet up?
Yes, of course. My studio is based just outside of Woodbridge in Suffolk and I'm here most of the time. I'm more than happy to make tea and show you around too. If you'd prefer we can meet up at a local pub or cafe but if you live far away and can't make it to Suffolk then I might request that our initial meetings are conducted over the phone or via Skype. My studio is in fairly easy reach of anyone based in Essex, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and London. Please ask for directions!
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes. I'm based in Suffolk and most of my work is in and around East Anglia but I will travel anywhere in the world. I've shot weddings in London, Yorkshire, Italy, Hampshire.......Travel outside of Suffolk may be subject to further costs at 50 per mile, and weddings outside of East Anglia may be subject to accommodation costs. This will be made clear prior to booking.
Do you do engagement sessions?
Yes I do. They are a great way for us to get to know each other and also help to get any shy faces used to being centre of attention. They make great wall decorations and can be used on your invitation. From £200
Can we print our photographs?
As the Bride and Groom, yes you may. The USB will contain all of your images as hi-res files and you can print them as you wish. I ask that you direct your guests to the online gallery to purchase their copies though. I also retain copyright on all of the photos and so you mustn't sell them on or display them in public without crediting me!
Do you provide albums?
The current 2017-18 package comes with a Milk/Moleskin album for the additional price of £180 but I do provide a range of alternatives that I'd be happy to put together for you at extra cost. You don't have to decide on this option before your wedding, albums can be put together at any time. Details on request.
We are having a huge wedding! Will you be able to cover everything?
If you are having an exceptionally large wedding or even if you just like the idea, I can provide a second shooter at extra cost. They will be someone I know and trust with suitable experience.
Can we see all of the images?
Part of my job after the day itself is quality control. I select the best images from the day to provide a complete and accurate portrayal of your wedding and will certainly never hold back any photos that I think you'd love. As experienced as I am there will still be some photos featuring folks with closed eyes or windswept hair that will not make the grade and that I wouldn't be happy releasing.
Can we have the RAW files?
No, I'm afraid not. Images are supplied as jpegs only.
Are the images edited?
All of the images will be edited and corrected to professional grade reflecting my overall style. A proportion, typically a third, will be beautiful black and whites!
Are you insured?
Yes, public liability and indemnity.
What equipment do you use?
I use professional grade Canon cameras and lenses. I bring back-up and spares of everything I use too.
Do you need to visit the venue before the day?
I am sometimes able to attend wedding rehearsals although it is unusual for me to do so. I am familiar with many of the popular venues around East Anglia - Easton Grange, Jimmy's Farm, Butley Priory, Woodall Manor etc. and even if I haven't shot there before I'll only deem it necessary to preview it in exceptional circumstances.
How quickly will we receive our photographs after our wedding?
Turnaround time varies depending on workload. I say no longer than three months to cover myself in busy periods but aim to get the photos edited and posted within 6 weeks.
What's the required deposit to book you?
If you decide to have me as your photographer then I will ask you to return a signed contract and £400 to secure the date. I am available and happy to answer any questions that may arise between that point and the wedding day but will only get in touch to go over the last minute plans in the weeks leading up to the wedding.
Do you have any requirements on our wedding day?
I usually sit down for a rest while you and your guests are eating and if you have booked me for a full day then I ask if you'd kindly arrange some hot food for me to stop me passing out before the cake cutting. It can be exhausting running around all day.
